Who is Bruno Pratico?

Bruno Pratico (May 16, 1958, Aosta) is an Italian bass-baritone, known for his Rossini repertory. He was awarded the Rossini d’Oro in 1998 for his Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola, and is generally considered to be one of the greatest living performers of comic bass roles.

Although Pratico has performed at the world’s major opera houses (the New York Met, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Vienna Staatsoper and the Teatro Real in Madrid) and has a vast repertory, it is the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro that takes a special place in his heart, and Don Bartolo from The Barber of Seville remains his favorite role.

Belcanto is a lot more than just a technique. It is a philosophy, a language, a culture…and Bruno Pratico is its true bearer. Having walked a few steps alongside the great master, you will never sing the same way again.

If your repertory includes Rossini, or you just want to understand the magic of bel canto, you must absolutely visit us in Rimini and join the Bruno Pratico Master course.
